Motors
Hydraulic motors for TurfMaker hydroseeders, in both the pump and agitator positions on the 550 and the 700. A motor that is wearing out shows up as lost performance first: the pump slows under load, discharge distance drops off, or the agitator bogs with a full tank. The four positions use four different motors and they do not interchange, so read the tag on the motor you are pulling before you order. Common Questions
Which hydraulic motor does my TurfMaker hydroseeder use?
Four positions use four different motors and they do not interchange. The TurfMaker 700 pump motor is the 103-1036, Part #70204. The 700 agitator motor is the 104-1025, Part #70222. The 550 pump motor is the 103-1038, Part #70206. The 550 agitator motor is the 103-1039, Part #70207. Read the tag on the motor you are pulling before you order.
How do I know if a hydraulic motor is failing?
On the pump side you feel it before you see it: the pump slows under load, discharge distance falls off from where it used to be, and the motor runs hot even on a cool morning. On the agitator side the symptom shows up in the tank instead, as mulch settling out, a heavier mix at the bottom of the load, and spray that changes as the tank empties.
Is it the motor or the controller?
Lost power points at the motor. Lost control points at the controller. If the circuit surges or hunts instead of holding a steady speed, the handle has a dead spot, or the pump or paddles creep when the control is in neutral, look at the controller before you replace the motor.
