Slicky Sticky: The Soil Binder Hydroseeders Use as a Tackifier

Slicky Sticky is a polyacrylamide soil binder that many hydroseeders use as a tackifier. Add it to your tank to help hold seed and mulch in place, pump easier and get quicker, more even grass.

What Slicky Sticky does in your tank

Slicky Sticky is a high quality polyacrylamide, specifically formulated as a hydroseeding mulch additive for hydroseeding, hydromulching and sprigging.

6 to 8x

Less clogging

Slicky Sticky makes paper or wood mulch very slippery and easier to pump. It is 6 to 8 times more slippery than guar, so clogging is highly unlikely in any hydroseeder.

1¼ to 1½x

More area from your mulch

Cover 1¼ to 1½ times the land area with the same amount of mulch. Mulch also lasts longer, keeping the soil stable until seed is established.

Better erosion protection

Helps keep seed and mulch from washing away.

Better seed germination

Enhances germination, usually resulting in quicker and more uniform grass establishment.

Easy-pour bottle

Packaged in a 15 lb plastic bottle with a screw-on lid. No wet or torn bags, and no slippery decks from spilled product.

Environmentally safe

Fully biodegradable, environmentally safe and E.P.A. exempt.

Tackifier or soil binder?

Using Slicky Sticky as a hydroseeding tackifier

A tackifier is added to a hydroseeding slurry to help seed and mulch stick to the soil and stay put until grass is established. Slicky Sticky does that job as a polyacrylamide (PAM) soil binder. It helps bind the soil, keeps seed and mulch from washing away, and makes the slurry slippery so it pumps easily.

By definition, Slicky Sticky is a soil binder and soil flocculant designed for hydroseeding success. It is not technically classified as a tackifier, but many hydroseeders use it the same way.

Slicky Sticky and guar

Guar is one of the most common plant-based tackifiers. Slicky Sticky is 6 to 8 times more slippery than guar, and you can combine the two for an extra boost in performance.
